Why not? Most people jump on a bandwagon because they want to "belong" to something so they can have bragging rights. Not us. That's not to say we haven't helped TAPS out before, but what makes them so special above everyone else? That they have a TV show?
If you take away the TV show, they are still a closed group that benefits off of their celebrity status. All the thousands of people who are trying to get a piece of the action will soon discover that once the show is gone, so too the excitement. If you were to give us a TV show (Or anyone else for that matter) ~ you'd have a lot of people wanting to be "Just like You".
That's not saying we don't like TAPS, quite the contrary... we love watching them and love that they are becoming more responsible with their episodes and behavior. Because ALL Ghost Hunters/Paranormal Investigators are judged by how we act, conduct ourselves and what we say, it's important to keep in mind that ALL OF US can help or hurt the reputation of what the public thinks of us.
This in turn can cause doors to close for other investigators down the road who might have had the opportunity to investigate a really haunted place.
In the end, we are all equals. There is no school that any of us go to. There is no one "better" or "more educated" in the field of ghost hunting.
We are PIONEERS and explorers of the unknown. We're writing the book as we go and each one of us contributes our own chapters to the overall book of GHOST HUNTING. Therefore, we're content in ourselves and what we do that we don't need to "belong" to have validation to what we do. We're happy to help anyone who needs it, TV cameras or not.
