While it's easy to copy what we see on TV or other people doing doesn't mean that it's the correct thing to do, especially in ghost hunting. One of the most important things I teach people is to be respectful to both each other and the dead. Think about it...
In real life, do you want someone to taunt you about doing something you probably don't want to do? Someone calling you names or making you feel bad? The answer is probably not. No one likes to be hurt.
Just because you're a spirit/entity/ghost doesn't mean you're any different. You still have your feelings, emotions, and things still bother you just as if you were alive.
So what gives you the right to be taunting someone else? Just because you're alive? No. it doesn't. So we don't encourage it.
In fact we encourage being respectful because in all our investigations, that's got us more cooperation with these entities which is what every investigator could only dream about.
There's no secret, no magic formula but just good ol' common respect. They know and see how you treat each other and how you talk to them. Of course, this doesn't mean that every investigation you're going to get interaction. But in our experience, it has helped more than not.
So next time you're on an investigation, don't try and piss off the spirits. Treat them like you want to be treated and you'll be way ahead of the game.
